ALLETE Shared Purpose and Values
Employee Development
We care about others, respect our differences and create opportunities for everyone to thrive. We recruit the best, value communication and encourage strong partnerships. We strive to achieve our full individual and collective potential. We respect and value our own talents and the talents of people we work with, and we celebrate each other’s success. We take seriously the responsibility to lead with excellence in whatever way we’re called upon to lead. We’re on a journey together, and we contribute to and share in ALLETE’s success along the way.
ALLETE provides required safety, cyber security, ethics and anti-corruption training for all employees, including management.
Compensation and Benefits
Employees are ALLETE’s greatest resource and reason for success. We offer a competitive package that attracts, recognizes and retains high-quality talent; aligns with strategic business objectives; supports Company values; and recognizes the shared responsibility between the individual and the Company.
Our competitive package gives employees flexibility, choices, and opportunities in the areas that matter most — your money, your health, your time, and your career.
VETERANS AND MILITARY SERVICE MEMBERS SUPPORT
ALLETE is proud to support our nation's veterans and military service members and their families. It is our charge to provide purpose-centered work, a learning environment and the opportunity to excel.
Minnesota Power and ALLETE Clean Energy are honored to be Yellow Ribbon Companies.
VETERAN AND MILITARY SERVICE MEMBERS BENEFITS
Veterans and military service members who become ALLETE employees can take advantage of our benefits packages, professional development and tuition reimbursement. Additionally, active military and veteran-specific benefits and programs such as pay differential for deployments and training, and GI Bill benefits for qualified apprenticeships, are available at several of ALLETE’s subsidiaries.
VETERAN AND MILITARY SERVICE MEMBERS EXPERIENCE RESOURCES
Veteran and military service members can access their Joint Services Transcript (JST) online at https://jst.doded.mil/jst/. A JST provides a description of military schooling and work history in civilian language. It serves as a counseling tool for academic and career counselors in advising service members and veterans and serves as an aid in preparing resumes and explaining Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, National Guard and Navy work experience to civilian employers.
